:: Mogens Lysgaard's review:
Yes...seeing Suede and gearing all the songs playede live was surely really really great but the highlight was to me maybe the 12 mins break between first and second encore.

brett

A danish musician played some of his songs accusticly in English. No-one really seemed to care and he got the best applauses when he said he only had one song left. During his little set he told Suede was eating out backstage and had said they were in top shape [and they definitely were - especially Brett Anderson]. While playing the set the line-up was [as seen from the audience]. Alex Lee to the left playing guitar sometimes and keyboard/singing on others. A little hidden behind him to the left was Mat Osman. In the center back Simon Gilbert and his drums on a little platform making him a little above the stage. Out to the right was Richard O. Alex and Richard was wearing some long sleeved shirts. When the band entered the crowd cheered but 30 seconds later Brett entered and the crows cheered out loud. Brett's position on stage: he was all over the place!! 3 or 4 times kicking his water bottles to the audience in a nice U turn, shaking his hips and swinging the microphone. Sometimes tinging to the audience and sometimes singing to one side of the balcony and then the other side of the balcony. Playing different rhythm instruments from time to time.

A track by track review:
Simon >> The room was quite dark. Both Richard and Alex playing accoustic in each side of stage. Brett in the middle singing.

Positivity >> Now lights are on. Mostly violet, red and blue. Very nice and balloons all over the people on the floor. A very good song but it really didnīt hit me that much but then ..........

Heroine >> A fucking cool and groovy verison of this. The crowd jumping, singing and shouting. And Brett jumping like a mad mad. Ver very good soong and worked really well.

Trash >> Same as "Heroine" . Played in the same manner. Again a highpoint of the show. The crowd knew the lyrics better for this one. Definitely a highpoint and now everybody was getting going.

Metal Mickey >> The band played the song very well and you could see Brett loved performing it. It never been a fav. of mine but great live. This tripe with 3,4,5 really got the audience (and me!) going!

Lost In TV >> A good song and quite good live but not really one of the highpoints of the show.

Beautiful Loser >> This one was much better. A heavy glam-rock version. Mostly good because Brett really was good.

Everything Will Flow >> I donīt really like it that much as an album song but live with Brett and lightshow it was really gourgeous

The Wild Ones >> Well.. a favourite song of mine. Before the song Brett told the audience how to sing "running with the dogs.." Most of the song was done with us the audience singing it. It kind of worked but not as good as it could.

Obsessions >> This one was really cool. I think the one of the new songs that worked best. The band played it reall well. Very good and easy to move to. Btw. before each song from ANM Brett said "Hereīs a song from out new album". He wanted to scream signaling it with his hand. Through the gig the audience got better at it.

Canīt Get Enough >> I donīt really like this song but live...wooooooow with Obcessions this was a good pair of songs. Brett really kicked ass here. and then...

Animal Nitrate >> I just lost my head. This was just so good and all the audience went crazy jumping and Richard played it like a devil. VERY VERY GOOD. Definitely a highlight of the show.

Filmstar >> Brett singing and pointing to the audience and the audience singing pointing back. Very very good.

Street Life >> Reminded kind of Can't Get Enough but the band didnīt play it that well. Itīs a new song so they are excused. Ok, but no highpoint.

Sheīs In Fashion >> Really really good. Most of the song done by Brett and the crowd. A capella. Very uplifting.

Then Brett says "We take a rest and come back in a little while". People sing shout and keeps clapping and 5 mins Brett come backs in a white T-shirt similar to the black he wore before and a accoustic guitar. Sayīs "this is a song I wrote to someone"..etc (I canīt remember). He sits on a chair alone with a spotlight on him and plays...

Oceans >> Very good song and Brett did it very well but not one of the really highpoints.

The band comes back on stage and played as encore 1..
Astro Girl >> Nice with nice lightshow but again not really that ass kicking. I love it on the new album though. but then....

So Young >> I was sold. What more can I say. Even better than Animal Nitrate earlier. GREAT GREAT GREAT. Everyone jumping and shouting the song. Definitely a highpoint of the show.

Beautiful Ones >> Really ass kicking too indeed. I never thought this one could be so great live. All in the audience knew it word by word singing dancing and Brett was dancing too and jumping around like a mad man from one side of the scene to other and jumping to the drum podium. Made me really happy this song. Very very good.

Then.."thank you goodnight etc". and the sheet begind the scene said "the end"....Until now it had been a really, tottally fucking great gig but the real hightlight began now. They turned the normal lights on. A few minutes later stage people began to work on the stage. All the the audience kept standing, clapping, shouting, singing, and we really kicked the floor. We did this for 10 minutes,. Yes.. maybe even 12 miutes or so. Iīnot excactering. Maybe it was even longer. It was real special. Gave me really gooseflesh. Then the band came back on stage to a huge cheer. Plugged their instruments in and played as encore 2...

The Drowners >> They band played it very well and Brett was great too. The audience was on again and we were jumping like madmen and singing. To me it was not nearly as good as SY and AN but close.

As last song they played:
Saturday Night >> Everybody knew the words for that one too and it was clearly good but sadly that this had to be the end.

And then Brett says "Thank you. You have been a great audience. Now I go back to the hotel for a cup of chocolate and watch a porn movie."

And with that, a very nice night at Vega was really over. The entire show was about 1 h. 45 mins, maybe 2 hours if you count the pauses between encores.

:: Danielle Bekkar's review:
On the 10th of October Vega quickly got filled with happy almost ecstatic fans, the atmoshere was tense and expectations high. At 9.20 the intro to Simon started and kicked of an amazing event. I have never seen Suede perform with such intensity and pure love of music. Brett's energy and loud interaction with the audience was extremly captivating. Setlist : Simon, positivity, Heroine, Trash, metal Mickey, Everything will flow, Lost in tv, Beautiful loser, obsessions, Wild ones, Film star, Animal Nitrate, Street life, Cant get enough, Before the last track Brett announced they had to go, he was sleepy and needed a nice cup of coco, maybe a pornographic movie....

She's in fashion. extra : Oceans, Astro girl, So young, Beautiful ones.

After this the lights went on and background music was played. I have seen numerous gigs at Vega but have never experienced the following : The fans refused to leave, everyone kept clapping, cheering screaming. This went on for 15 minutes, the technicians had started clearing the stage, but suddenly a microphone stand came back in. The lights went out, and the crowd went MAD!! Suede came back out, with Brett smiling, and telling us : Copenhagen, you have always been good to us, you are super fantastic!"

They played the drowners and saturday night. And it was all over.. After the gig we met Simon, and Brett rushed by saying hi an into a car.LOL Simon told us about his newly bought Dr.Martens. Nice way to end the evening.
