:: Elina's review [cont'd from the stockholm gig] :
The gig in Helsinki took place at the Cable Factory (Kaapelitehdas) in an old industrial hall. There were maybe some problems with acoustics and stuff, but I must say jumping in the front row I really noticed none of such. The support act was Finnish band called Manboy. I used to like them but this time I just couldn't wait them to get off stage. Before the gig at the bar Simon told us they were just going to play "depressing old b-sides" like High Rising, Big Time and Digging a Hole. Well, they didn't, but they started with Europe Is Our Playground which sounded just very, very good. The setlist was a nice mixture of old and new songs. Brett looked happy and once again joked on stage, telling us about his problems of "not getting it up". He started encore with playing a bit of Indian Strings and then said oops, that's wrong one and went on with Untitled. Show ended with So Young and Beautiful Ones and the band was smiling widely while leaving the stage. I had liked the Stockholm gig a lot, actually, but liked this one even more. Later I noticed my knees and arms were all black and blue with bruises after the whole lot of bouncing and rocking. My two evenings with Suede ended happily as we got passes to go to the after show party in their dressing room (thanks a loooot Ilkka & Liisa, Mat and Peter). Quite soon the bottles of champagne ran empty and the band (and lucky us) went on to a nightclub. (now it's time to get back to reality for a while but London is calling...)
And something like this: >> Setlist: Europe is Our Playground Beautiful Loser Trash Metal Mickey Electricity Street Life Everything Will Flow Lost in TV Obsessions The Wild Ones Filmstar [with funny Brett spelling the word F I L M... -intro] Animal Nitrate Can't Get Enough Positivity She's in Fashion [very hilarious moment in the beginning when Brett coaxed the audience to sing the words "she's in fashion" in some very camp voice] encore: [a bit of Indian Strings] Oceans Untitled So Young Beautiful Ones [this is for you lot] >> Source: Elina, Maria
