Since the show is still one more day to go, meanwhile here're some pics from the press conference today:

and the report...

Just got back from the press conference and seeing the boys with my own eyes was just WOW!!

They only asked the usual questions like why the title A New Morning, what Alex brings to the band, etc. I refrained from asking because, um, I didn't have a press card! *sshh*

But some interesting answers were:

Reporter: "What do you guys think about Alex?" Mat: "He's a lovely, lovely man."

Reporter: "How do you overcome troubles and frictions among yourselves after all these years together?" Mat: "Wrestling."

Reporter: "Brett's favourite movie?" Brett wrote: "Performance" [see the pic above]. Which caused a bit of a stir in the crowd, some unfamiliar with the film and others shouted that they wanted the piece of cardboard Brett wrote on! The band ended up having to explain a bit about the film.

Reporter: "Favourite Suede song?"
Simon: [without hesitation] "My Dark Star."
Mat: ... "I'll have to say Everything Will Flow." Then he glimpsed at Brett and said, "I know Brett's going to say The Wild Ones so I'll save his voice and say it for him." To which Brett happily nodded to.
Richard: "Lost in TV."
Alex: "Obsessions. New single. In stores now."

It was mostly Mat and Simon answering, very friendly, they even teased a reporter that kept dishing out another question every time Simon tried to answer! I kept smiling and laughing!

And uh oh, Brett almost couldn't talk at all - he really lost his voice in Hong Kong! He had to write down the answers to some questions addressed to him. One was "Do you ever have troubles with your throat, singing like that?" which he answered by writing a huge YES - which should be obvious enough!! When the reporter begged to hear his voice, he bellowed, "Hello."

But my highlight of the day was about an hour before the press conference started - me and my sister were walking around looking for the conference room and WE BUMPED INTO MAT, RICHARD, AND ALEX! They were going to eat at the cafe, and we said hi and shook their hands and chatted a bit. As usual my brain malfunctioned in such thrilling events so God knows what I was rambling about! I remember telling Alex that his new hair looked great.

Then some guy from the promoter company shooed us off, but Mat reached over and touched my Head Girl badge on my shirt's collar, saying "Hey you've got one of these." "Yeah," I said proudly. Then without even thinking I blurted, "David Barnett sent me this." Then Mat and Richard went like ooooh and Mat said "David Barnett... known worldwide!" Then I had to let them go eat and said our goodbyes... :`(

Argh, it was too brief, I miss them already! But at least I got to see them!! Can't wait for tomorrow!!

It's called obsession indeed!!
