I've never seen a new member fit into a band more snugly and look as if they've always been there. When I got the message from a close friend that you had decided to leave Suede, nothing could have prepared me for the sense of loss I felt, and my sadness that one of the best British bands for a long time was losing one of it's more influencial members. I was beyond shocked, to say the least, when I found myself crying, because - and this is probably the wrong thing to admit - I couldn't stand you for much of my time as a suede fan!! I feel almost guilty that shortly after I really started to appreciate your talent and give you the credit you deserve, you have actually decided to leave the band.
You have my full support in your decision, though, and I know that most - if not all - the fans would rather see you leave now and get better than make yourself worse by sticking around for our benefit. The time you spent as a member of Suede was an era in itself, and the band won't be the same without you, but I suppose its time to move on now, and all we can say is thank you for helping to create the music that many of us grew up to. U added a whole new level of sophistication & style to the already suave & elegant guys, despite of critics' fears that u were just Brett's pic of Dorian Gray. 4 the record, u r really a talented musician & the Brit music scene will, no doubt, lose an influential presence. Should u ever choose to return, your comeback will be warmly received by earnest fans like yours truly.
