The video for Obsessions was shot at the New Marquee, Islington, North London, between noon to night, involving obsessive fans who had been called to participate by the Suede Information Service. Interested fans sent in their particulars and chose whether to feature their personal obsession to the camera or join other fans in a storming live performance from the band. Firstly: why Obsessions?
The band wanted an uptempo "live" song to go with the UK tour, hence Obsessions was chosen as the next single. A fine choice if I may say.

Pay attention to the DVD's extra feature: developing Obsessions. What's that? you're asking. It was a rather slow version of the song, taken from the video shoot performance, which was actually a real highlight of that shoot. That version of Obsessions was quite superb, everyone sang along, a magical moment. So be grateful that you get to see it on the DVD!

And how about the other b-sides? The songs are all brand new [gosh, 6 new tracks!]. Instant Sunshine is a demo from a couple of years back, from the Stanbridge sessions. UFO is a new recording of a track that was originally demoed at 2khz at the end of last year. The rest are fresh new tracks.

Two weeks before its release, so far Obsessions has been "single of the week" on Mark & Lard's show on Radio One, and been playlisted on Radio 2, BBC London, 6Music, and Xfm. I'm sure it's only a matter of days before it conquers radio & MTV airplays internationally.
