can't get enoughMy love to Suede is bigger than the universe, bigger than the 6 of us; and I can't get enough of them. :)Are Suede the best band in the world? To me, the answer would be YES. And I've got a list of proofs enough to reach the moon from London. However I don't feel it necessary to explain every one of them, as they are visible clearly to everyone with good music taste. I knew Suede for the very first time in August 1996. I can still recall how I was stunned to my bones hearing Trash for the first time...it was really the best thing I ever heard, it was extraordinary. It was Suede. Then I got Coming Up in my hands, but apparently I was still unaware of their fantastic skills. I really fell for Suede after they had released Beautiful Ones and Saturday Night. So, yes, I am a new fan. I can't believe how a band could turn my life upside down, but they did. And they still do. Later I bought Dog Man Star, Suede, Sci-Fi Lullabies... and somehow now I cannot live a day without Suede songs. They lift me up when I'm down, they make me forget myself. The biggest part of me is Suede music. They really influence me in many ways. Maybe I'm obsessed with them.
life before suedeHardly possible, but yes, I lived through that period... I can hardly believe it. I started getting into music in about 1995, that explains why I hadn't heard about Suede until 1996. I remember as a young girl I was listening to... New Kids On The Block [remember that fever in around early 1990?], Tommy Page, and other pop stuff, you know, the stuff community like. At that time music was not as important as it is to me now. Around 1995 I was really into grunge and punk, and I still like Green Day until today. In 1996 I started to pay intense attention to alternative music especially British bands like Oasis and Blur, and that's how I found my way to Suede.
through endless indonesiaIn a country where ska, cafes, and fluorescent tank-tops are the trends of the youth, where in society does a black-clad vegetarian lass stands? In exile, definitely. In the particular country's music scene, where formula to success are good look and dance steps, who rule? Boybands. Teen pop wonders. This puts non-dancing high quality bands in exile also. This exile is perhaps the only place where pigs don't fly and brains are securely attached - and properly working - in sane people's heads. I was so happy to find such a great band like Suede. So if you're in England where everyone knows Suede and where they perform live at least once a year, just imagine my situation. In Indonesia we don't find singles, no, unless if the band consist of dancing pretty boys. Also it's pretty hard to find true Suedeheads around. That's why I love the internet so much, it brings me closer to Suede People out there - the only ones, the loaded guns. So if you'd like to contact me, please do.
