>> About the vid:
The UK video for The Drowners is ace, the band looked cute and awfully young. Featuring the band performing the song, and a young girl who walks around with Brett, whose head comes off in Brett's hands.

>> Director: Lindy Heymann.
>> Date: 1993
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
Metal Mickey shows the band playing in a room and a young street girl getting picked by a sort of pimp [I think :)] from a butcher's shop.

>> Director: Andy Crabb and David Lewis.
>> Date: 1993
>> Can be found in:

>> About the vid:
So Young is a very artistic video, where we get to see Bernie hugging his guitar, and we can see some young people too....

stay together

stills> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
>> Director: Jon Klein.
>> Date: January 25, 1994
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
The Stay Together video was shot at Riverside Studios in London. In one part, we can actually see Bernard hanging upside down, playing his guitar. And Brett gagged. The band despise this video for too many empty symbolisms. The whole video doesn't fit the song, though, I think. Director: Jon Klein.

we are the pigs

  >> Director: David and Raphael Vital-Durand.
>> Date: 1994
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
The video for We Are The Pigs was initially banned by some TV stations including MTV for showing violence.In this video there are car burnings, cross burnings, violence to humans, that are in my opinion very close to reality. Suede themselves appear very artistically on giant billboards, large screens, all over the violence scenes.

the wild ones

screenshot >> Director: Howard Greenhalgh.
>> Date: 1995
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
They were shooting The Wild Ones video in Dartmoor. It was raining, it was very cold, and they were shivering to death; over all that they still had to freeze and pose.

new generation

  >> Director: Richard Heslop.
>> Date: 1995
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
New Generation features the whole band playing in a crowded room. This video is in monochrome format. In some scenes we can see Brett singing into 2 microphones taped together to one mic-stand.
And, there's a little plug at the end of the vid: the CD single appears for a few seconds. Nice. ;-)

trash

screenshot >> Director: David Mould.
>> Date: 1996
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS
:: Coming Up enhanced CD [US release]

>> About the vid:
The video for Trash, like New Generation, also features the whole band playing in a crowded room. The difference is that in Trash, the room and the people are much more glamorous with fancy make-up and costumes. The video has a neon-feeling. The most memorable shot for me, when I saw this video for the first time, was Brett sitting on a fluorescent pink sofa.
Introducing the first appearance of Neil Codling.
One of the models on the cover of Coming Up appears in this video.
There's a US version of this video, you can find it on the US release of Coming Up, but the difference from the UK version is only slight.

beautiful ones

screenshot >> Director: Pedro Romhanyi.
>> Date: 1996
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS
:: Filmstar single [CD1]
:: Coming Up enhanced CD [US release]

>> About the vid:
The video Beautiful Ones was shot in one day. It was in a small warehouse in North London. It features the whole band playing in front of a white backdrop, and shots of things with the words from the song written all over them.

saturday night

screenshot >> Director: Pedro Romhanyi.
>> Date: 1996
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS
:: Coming Up enhanced CD [US release] [hidden]

>> About the vid:
Saturday Night was shot in the Holborn underground station [Kingsway, London], the only station where filming is allowed. There's this disused line heading to Aldwych that can be used for shooting. For the party scene, they [these party people are fanclub members] go 50 feet further down the track into the tunnel. It features actress Keeley Hawes, who you'd probably noticed appearing in James' video "She's A Star". Aqua also shot their video Turn Back Time there; also the Propellerheads with David Arnold for their song On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

lazy

screenshot
screenshot
>> Director: Pedro Romhanyi.
>> Date: 1997 [shot around their SouthEastAsia tour]
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
Lazy video showed the whole band playing music and lazying around in a room. This room seems comfortable in dark red domination and soft lights. Somehow I just LOVE it when this video comes on. We get to see Brett peeping at a bathing neighbour below his floor, Neil feeding fish, and my favourite part, Richard jumping up and down on a mattress - with Brett lying beneath his feet!

filmstar

screenshot >> Director: Zowie Broach.
>> Date: June 25, 1997
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
Filmstar music video featured fan club members from all over the world. Priority was for fans from outside UK. Suede played the song several times, plus a few other songs in that shot.

europe is our playground

screenshot >> Director: Simon Gilbert.
>> Date: 1997
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS;
:: Implement Yeah! enhanced CD [fanclub only]

>> About the vid:
The video for Europe Is Our Playground was taken from Simon's personal video tapes. It shows the band on tour, on stage, on bus, on airport... it's definitely great and fun to see. Was made to support promotion campaign for b-side collection album Sci-Fi Lullabies.

electricity

screenshot >> Director: Mike Lipscombe.
>> Date: 1999
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
The video of Electricity is exciting, aptly full of electric power buzzing all over. The image of Suede members look like electric-generated, they appear and fade. Among these images are also some models' images alternating. They're playing at a venue saying 'For One Night Only - Suede'. This video used miniatures plus sound effects for the electricity effect.

she's in fashion

screenshot >> Director: Johan Renck [also known as Stakka Bo].
>> Date: 1999
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
She's In Fashion's opening scene is a semi-naked girl, shot from her back. The story line is, Brett riding in a car [on the left side of the back seat] and seeing this girl all along his ride. The girl's throwing her garbage, taking her dog for a walk, standing among a flower field, sitting on a tree, and so on. She wears different clothes every time [total 11 clothes]. In the end of the video, Brett turned his head to his right, and so did the camera, and we'll see that girl sitting next to him in the back seat. I think it's a brilliant fashion-show-like video, and it would be great for you who are, 'in fashion'.

everything will flow

screenshot >> Director: Howard Greenhalgh.
>> Date: 1999
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
Everything Will Flow, one of the most artistic videos I've ever seen. The video shows water everywhere on everyone - an explicit interpretation to 'everything will flow'. On the metaphoric interpretation - the true heart of the song - pictured zoom-out shots of each scene, way out to the sky, opening our eyes to the fact of how small we really are and that life is, and indeed it is, 'just a lullaby'. Great video for a totally remarkable song.

can't get enough [uk]

  >> Director: John Hillcoat.
>> Date: 1999
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS

>> About the vid:
The UK version is the only video that does not feature any of Suede in it, as they don't feel like good actors. It shows a couple [played by Max Beesley & Laura Fraser] trashing their apartment, very cool.

can't get enough [australia]

screenshot >> Director: Simon Gilbert.
>> Date: 1999
>> Can be found in:
:: Lost in TV DVD/VHS
:: Can't Get Enough single [CD3]

>> About the vid:
Containing dashing footages of Suede activities in-between their performance of the song, off Simon's personal collection.
This version was made when Australia decided to release the song as second single off Head Music instead of She's in Fashion like the rest of the world. To aid the promotion, Simon came to the rescue with this amazing piece.

positivity

screenshot
screenshot
stills> 1 2 3 4
>> Director: Julian Gibbs.
>> Date: July 25, 2002
>> Can be found in:
:: Positivity single [CD1, DVD]

>> About the vid:
Simply the band performing in a white room and as the vid goes on and on, there are butterflies, birds, petals flying around... quite a beautiful eye-candy of a vid. And fits the song nicely, too.
Shot at a West London studio.
Should've been a proper 'introduction' of Alex to the world but unfortunately, aside from Brett, you'll have to gaze intensely to recognize 4 blurry figures in his background!

obsessions

screenshot
screenshot
stills> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
>> Director: Grant Gee.
>> Date: October 5, 2002
>> Can be found in:
:: Obsessions single [DVD]

>> About the vid:
The video for Obsessions was shot at the New Marquee, Islington, North London, between noon to night, involving obsessive fans who had been called to participate by the Suede Information Service. Interested fans sent in their particulars and chose whether to feature their personal obsession to the camera or join other fans in a storming live performance from the band. More about the performance here.

attitude

screenshot
screenshot
stills> 1 2 3 4 5 6 78 9
>> Director: Lindy Heymann.
>> Date: 2003
>> Can be found in:
:: Attitude single [CD1 & DVD]

>> About the vid:
The video starring John Hurt who was dressed as a woman and performed the song onstage... then he took off all his makeup and strut out of the theatre, still humming the song.

There are 2 versions of this video, one featuring Brett, one not.
